Ian Mair is a government relations and public policy executive with more than thirteen years of experience spanning Capitol Hill and advisory and in-house roles in the private sector. He served as Vice President of The Smith-Free Group, Washington’s longest-standing bipartisan lobbying firm, and led U.S. federal and state government relations for Blockchain.com, the oldest cryptocurrency company in the world.

His Capitol Hill experience includes service on the staff of Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and House Commission on Artificial Intelligence, and a former co-chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.

A coalition builder, Mair has advanced complex initiatives through Congress and Executive Branch agencies and aligned disparate stakeholders to turn proposals into durable policy outcomes. As CEO of FAI Action, he will work with policymakers, staff, agencies, and partners to advance FAI’s priorities across AI, emerging technology, energy and infrastructure, permitting, science and innovation, and American competitiveness.
